Story
As members of the Manna board of directors we've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible journey of Manna Soup Kitchen in Durango, Colorado. Manna is not just a soup kitchen; it's a lifeline for our community. Back in 1985, a group of caring individuals came together with a shared vision of tackling hunger and food insecurity in our town. They founded Manna Soup Kitchen, and over the years, this organization has evolved into a pillar of support for those in need. It all started with a simple soup kitchen, but it has grown to offer a wide range of crucial services, including food pantries, housing assistance, and job training programs.
What strikes us most is the dedication of the Manna team and the outpouring of support from volunteers and donors. They've worked tirelessly to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry. Manna's impact on countless lives and its contribution to building a more compassionate, stronger community cannot be overstated. As we gather for our Bread for Manna fundraising event, and raise monies for our communities holiday meals, let's take a moment to celebrate this remarkable journey. Together, we can continue to make a difference and ensure that Manna Soup Kitchen's mission of eradicating hunger and poverty thrives for many more years to come. The story of Manna is a story of compassion, resilience, and hope, and our community is proud to be a part of it.
