Celebrate 2023: A+D INK
Thursday from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM PST
In Person
This fall when A+D Museum reopens its doors, we invite you to join us in making our mark! This year’s Celebrate A+D, INK gala and auction is not just a celebration of our return to the physical realm, it’s a manifestation of our intent to leave a lasting impression, a commitment to the palpable power of design. The A+D Museum’s Celebrate, our annual gala, has a history of resonating with the times. This year we're jumping headlong into A+D, INK, encapsulating the theme of digital and print work. By delving into the power of juxtaposition, we are creating a dialogue between the tactile and enduring nature of ink and the boundless expanses of the digital wave.
Story
A+D Architecture + Design Museum is an all-inclusive center for design, including architecture, interior, landscape, fashion, product, graphic, and film/theater design. It is the only museum in Los Angeles where continuous exhibits of architecture and design are on view.
Through exhibits, symposia, multi-disciplinary projects, and educational and community programming, A+D serves as a showcase for the work of important regional, national, and international designers, providing a forum for contemporary issues in architecture, urbanism, and design that are helping to shape our world.
Following our first Celebrate gathering last November since the start of the pandemic, the A+D Museum has been hard at work bringing a range of exhibits, programs, and tours to the LA community.
Thanks to our wonderful partnership with SoCalNOMA and Helms Bakery District, the Museum has been honored to co-present the exhibition ‘Close to the Edge: The Birth of Hip Hop Architecture’, curated by Sekou Cooke. Featured at the Helms Bakery District in Culver City, it is the installation’s fifth and final stop in the US. A+D has redesigned its website thanks to the amazing team at the creative agency Kilograph and hosted our biggest Design Awards ever.
Alongside all of that great work, through the tireless efforts of the Board and staff, we have a new home for the Museum, which premieres in October with Celebrate! In other fantastic news, we received two grants from the LA County Recovery Grant Program, and California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program!
We look forward to welcoming back our A+D community into our new home on La Brea Avenue and rebuilding our presence as a creative hub and resource. This includes collaborating with design schools in LA and beyond, bringing a love of architecture and the creative process to elementary school students through educational programming, and broadening our reach into new communities.
