A Refuge for Open-Hearted Inquiry and Awakening

Nebraska Zen Center/Heartland Temple (NZC) is a Soto Zen Buddhist community dedicated to meditation, study, and the cultivation of compassion and wisdom in our lives and in our community. We are a refuge where people of all backgrounds can learn about Zen Buddhism, practice in fellowship with others, and pursue the project of awakening.

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to our cause while acquiring unique and meaningful items and experiences. This spring, NZC is hosting a fundraising auction, and we invite you to join us. Together we can raise the funds needed to sustain Zen practice in the heartland.

Our auction will run from May 20 to June 8, and will feature a diverse array of items generously donated by members of the NZC sangha and the Omaha community. We will offer something for everyone to enjoy—from artwork and handmade crafts to dining experiences and wellness packages. Every bid you make will bring you closer to acquiring the item of your choice and also directly support the programs and initiatives of the Nebraska Zen Center.

The highlight of NZC’s spring auction is calligraphy by our late abbot, Rev. Nonin Chowaney. We will offer several works by Nonin, as well as two by Japanese calligraphy masters Tsugen and Ikko Narasaki.

By participating in NZC’s spring auction, you invest in the future of our Zen center and help us make a positive impact on the world.

Shipping of items: please note that items that are bulky, very heavy and fragile are designated NOT SHIPPABLE. If you are the winning bidder of an item that is eligible for shipping, you are responsible for paying the shipping fees (FedEx or USPS with tracking number).
