On September 17^th, 2023, we were devastated in finding out the abandoned shepherd puppies tested positive with parvo. Parvo is horrible. Two of the 5 puppies were admitted into emergency care.

It was baffling. They arrived on 8/29. Positive giardia. Active happy playful eating pups then boom Cubby one day then Winnie the next. We thought they were car sick as each had been on a car ride before throwing up and was told Cubby was feeling better the next day. We have no idea where virus came from? Shepherds were isolated for 14 days, per our protocol.

Thankfully Cubby was released a few days later but her sister had it worse. She was finally released 9 days later to an ICU room at the rescue. As of 9/26 she isn’t out of the woods but at least she is home.

The veterinary bills for these dogs have exceeded $11,000 (funds we don’t have) but when you see those faces...euthanizing was never an option. They deserve a chance to have a loving home. They didn’t chose to be born homeless and abandoned. Every dog matters!
