The veterinary fund is critical in caring for the animals that come into the shelter. For example, George tested positive for heartworms, a parasite that kills by damaging the heart of its victim. Treatment is costly and complicated, but George should recover fully.

People thought Sassy had a fractured pelvis. After a comprehensive exam, the vet now thinks she may have issues with her bladder. We were able to ease her discomfort, and now are working to get her all fixed up.

Lastly, new mom Daisy has low vision in both eyes. One has a huge cataract in it, and we’d like to get the cataract removed so her vision and quality of life improve. Then, she will be able to see her new puppies clearly as she cares for them.
