Cosponsored by the City of Las Vegas, American Melanoma Institute is hosting the annual 5k Run, Walk and Celebration on May 6th in Las Vegas created to bring attention to skin cancers, such as melanoma, and to support those in need within our community. Skin cancer is the number one cancer affecting Americans with melanoma killing one person every hour in the US. 

The First 150 people registering/checking in for the 5k or Walk will receive a medal and a goodie bag, which includes UV protection sleeves.

AMI stands for gathering the community to fight skin cancers including melanoma. Medical and emotional care in the realm of cancer treatment is never easy, but the load is lightened when everyone gives themselves willingly and freely to the cause. Through this event you will make an impact and a difference.

It’s not just skin cancer, it’s the largest organ and your help is needed to provide the best possible care and to conduct research to improve it. Our goal is to reduce melanoma death to zero! Truly the spirit of these events are a reminder of why the research, care and treatment exist: to find the best cure for the ones we love.

The story behind the Melanoma.Foundation is from AMI’s founder and Executive Director, Dr. Amin Hedayat, when he witnessed that many patients with skin cancers delayed seeking care for reasons related to lack of community awareness about melanoma and skin cancers and lack of an efficient and effective way for patients to find trained and specialized physicians for timely care. This movement is powered by American Melanoma Institute helps raise money and provide resources to those diagnosed with skin cancer and their families.

By registering for the event, I am certifying I read and agree to these terms. If I am a minor, I certify that an adult guardian is registering on my behalf and agree to the terms above.
