Adventure Awaits: A Night to Dream Big

Join us at the Banknote Building in the South Bronx for an evening that celebrates courage, curiosity, and community on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

This family fundraising celebration will support our 3rd graders as they prepare for their very first overnight experience at LION at Club Getaway this spring.

This year, LION aims to raise $15,000 to help make this unforgettable experience possible for our elementary students.

We believe immersive, hands-on learning helps students grow with confidence, character, and connection. This overnight experience is the culmination of our elementary character program and the first of three signature overnight milestones students will experience throughout their journey at LION.

At the event, you will experience:

Camp-themed activities
A family-style dinner, raffle, and online auction
A gallery walk featuring student art and writing from their journey at LION

At the event, you will be immersed in a warm, camp-inspired atmosphere filled with moments of creativity, celebration, and connection as our community comes together to support our students and their journey ahead!

Our Character Program

From the very first day, our students have opportunities to grow their character through LION's Signature Practices, such as School Meeting, LION Pride, and our Leadership Lions.

School Meeting

School Meeting provides an opportunity for students and faculty to gather to discuss a wide range of issues impacting school culture, the Bronx community, the country, and the world. During School Meeting, students and staff express themselves and learn from each other’s experiences.

LION Pride

LION Pride provides an opportunity for staff and students to engage in our self-reflection process and receive feedback. In addition to planned activities, students and staff discuss the state of our school, community, and world.

Leadership Lions

Leadership Lions are nominated by their peers based on the initiative they demonstrate in the classroom and their efforts to support their teachers and friends. After their nomination, they assume leadership responsibilities in their class and in the larger elementary community.
