We at Crafters of Color and Gather believe that we can support local artists of color as well as Palestinians suffering in the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and beyond. For this event, we are asking artists from New Haven and beyond, of any race, to donate an item or bundle worth $25+ to be raffled off, with the proceeds benefitting direct aid for the family of displaced Palestinians facing imminent death. Khalil Jouda and his family have lost 21 relatives, their house was destroyed, and most recently their tent was burned by attacks on Al Shifa Hospital, leaving them without shelter. Mohammed's family also lost their homes and belongings after being forcibly relocated numerous times, putting his parents and siblings as young as 10 at risk of starvation and bombings. If the goals for these families are exceeded before or during the event, we will donate the funds to another family or a non-profit doing direct aid in Palestine.
