More than an art exhibit —

Art Afloat is a public art celebration bringing creativity, community, and Maine tradition together in downtown Freeport.

This summer, over 30 artist-painted lobster boats will be displayed at Freeport Town Hall in a unique exhibition featuring the work of talented regional artists, including two boats from Freeport High School’s (RSU 5) arts program. Sponsored by local businesses, each boat is a one-of-a-kind work of art and part of a true community-wide collaboration.

As the exhibition concludes, the boats will be auctioned to support future community initiatives, including a new Youth Philanthropy Project at Freeport High School focused on leadership, civic engagement, and giving back to the community.

Art Afloat celebrates local artists, supported by our business community, and helps shape Freeport’s future by engaging youth directly in local philanthropy through hands-on grantmaking.

Auction Open: June 25 - August 20
Auction Launch Party and Chamber Choice Awards Presentation: Friday June 26, Meetinghouse Arts 4-6PM, Freeport Maine RSVP HERE
Auction Close Party: August 27 4:30-6:30 PM at the Harraseeket Inn, Freeport Maine

Items will be available for pickup, after the auction closes, at the GFCC office 42 Main Street, Freeport Maine. If you would like to schedule a time, please email info@freeportmainechamber.com.

If you are out of town- We will gladly ship your auction item to you- shipping fees will be covered by the auction item winner. Please provide correct shipping information to info@feeeportmainechamber.com, as well as any specific shipping requests.
