Launched in 2021, the Flourish Campaign for Oakwood’s Performing and Visual Arts has to-date granted over $8,000,000 to the Oakwood City School District for a host of improvements which enhance and elevate the arts at the Oakwood Junior and Senior High School.

These improvements include:

The Rick and Jane Schwartz Performing Arts Wing—opened in the winter of 2024. This primary phase included a new addition to the Junior and Senior High, adding three large purpose-built classrooms designed specifically for choir, orchestra, and band. This addition also included storage, recording, and practice space for these performance arts.

Enhancements to the Oakwood Auditorium and the Whalen Family Stage—completed in the summer of 2025. This second phase of the campaign focused on critical upgrades to the beloved historic Oakwood Auditorium and included enhancements, such as lighting and sound upgrades, designed to improve the viewing experience for guests as well as highlighting student performers with a new grand piano.

The Flourish Grand Finale—Stay tuned for details on the third and final phase which will include further upgrades to the Junior and Senior High’s visual and performing art spaces. This phase is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027.

About the Event:

We are delighted to join the Oakwood Fine Arts Boosters (OFAB) at their annual fundraiser— Young @ ART—on April 11th from 7 to 9:30 pm! Come stop by our space for light refreshments as the evening of visual and performing arts unfolds to learn more about the impact of our Flourish Campaign for the Arts and all things Oakwood Schools Foundation.

Young@Art is OFAB’s signature annual event, celebrating the incredible creativity of Oakwood Schools’ students across visual and performing arts. Proceeds directly support arts education in our schools. A donation of $10 is suggested for adults and students always enjoy complimentary admission. While the Oakwood Schools Foundation and the Oakwood Fine Arts Boosters are two separate groups, we both share the same mission to support the students of Oakwood!
