The trade—a collection of first-edition comic books—turned this check into a prized possession. For over 60 years, it remained safely tucked away in Gary’s “treasure chest,” cherished as a link to history and creativity.

In 2024, as part of the 100th-anniversary celebration of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Gary generously donated this one-of-a-kind piece to the Canton Symphony Orchestra. His gift not only pays tribute to Gershwin’s legacy but also supports the Symphony’s mission to inspire our community through music.
