Audrey Beharie-McGee is a self-taught British artist whose journey through art and photography is deeply intertwined with her experiences and immense passion for creativity.
From a young age, Audrey displayed an unwavering curiosity and zest for life, which naturally led her to explore various artistic ventures, including singing and songwriting. Her vibrant energy and enthusiasm for performing arts remained a consistent source of inspiration throughout her life.
Audrey draws her inspiration from the incredible masters including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Peter Max, Mark Bradford, Rashid Johnson, Howardena Pindell, Kehinde Wiley, and of course Jean-Michel Basquiat, among others, who encouraged her to embrace a sense of artistic freedom and express her vision without inhibitions.
Through her art, she continues to explore themes of identity, resilience, and creativity, inviting viewers to engage with her vibrant interpretations of the world.
In her process, Audrey employs a variety of mediums, seamlessly blending mixed media and photography. Her work is characterized by bold colors, rich textures, organic materials and dynamic forms, each element serving as a testament to her imaginative spirit.
