Propel ATL is thrilled to invite you to our annual Blinkie Awards. This year's Blinkie Awards will celebrate some of Atlanta's most dedicated sustainable transportation advocates. In addition to inspirational stories from our award winners, we’ll have music, food and drinks, bike valet, a fabulous view from The Eastern's rooftop, and door prizes representing our bike/walk/roll mission. Everyone attending the 2024 Blinkie Awards will have a chance to win an Edison Bicycles e-bike valued at $2,400, New Bike Feel service package from Specialized, a Big Peach Running Co gift package, and a Muchacho gift card!

Introducing the Blinkies host: Mark Kendall! Mark Kendall is an Atlanta based comedian. Along with his production partner, Bill Worley, he is the co-founder of CoolCoolCool Productions, where they use comedy to encourage civic engagement. Their videos were named “Best Reason to Laugh” by Atlanta Magazine in 2021. He is currently the co-host of the podcast, "What's Good Atlanta?" for WABE/NPR. While studying film at Northwestern University, he completed the Comedy Central Chris Rock Summer School Program, where he pitched jokes at “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report.” Mark was named best Professional Funnyman by Creative Loafing in 2015 and was the Readers Pick for Best Comedian in Creative Loafing Atlanta in 2019. Getting There:

Walking & Cycling: The Eastern is located one block from the Atlanta BeltLine. Two Wheel Valet will provide free Bike Valet services for the event via address 800 Old Flat Shoals Rd SE, Atlanta, GA 30316.
MARTA: The Eastern is a 1.2 mile walk from the Inman Park Reynoldstown station, accessible via the Eastside Trail of the BeltLine, or catch a bus: MARTA routes 21 and 107 serve this location.
Driving: Located in The Dairies complex on Memorial Drive, The Eastern is adjacent to a pay by the hour parking deck.

Accessibility: The Eastern is fully accessible featuring multiple entrances and elevator access to every floor/rooftop.

Dress: Commuter Chic - Dressy casual that is comfortable and durable enough to withstand a walk, a crowded train or a bike ride, while being polished enough to let you know you are enjoying a night on the town!

2024 Blinkie Awards Winners

Sustainable Transportation Champion Award: Jason Dozier - Jason Dozier represents District 4 on the Atlanta City Council. The Sustainable Transportation Champion Award recognizes Councilmember Dozier’s commitment to achieving an Atlanta where everyone can move safely, easily, and sustainably throughout the city.

Expanding the Movement Award: Red, Bike, and Green - Red, Bike, and Green is a Black community-building collective that works to enhance the physical, mental, economic, and environmental health of Black communities by creating and promoting a relevant and sustainable Black bike culture.

Safe Routes to School Award: Mike Weigand - Mike Weigand is a cycling parent and active school transportation advocate who organizes walk and bike-to-school events. He also lobbies for safe infrastructure and serves on his neighborhood’s transportation committee, all to improve transportation equity for the school community.

Safe Streets Advocate Award: Focused Community Strategies - Focused Community Strategies partners with under-resourced neighborhoods to provide innovative and holistic development that promotes flourishing communities. FCS is committed to sustainable transportation options and improved infrastructure for the residents of South Atlanta and the students of Carver High School.

Transportation Media Award: ATL Urbanist (Darin Givens) - Darin Givens is a metro Atlanta native. His widely-followed blog, ATL Urbanist, takes a thoughtful, keen-eyed look at urbanism issues in our city from the ground up, regularly covering the transportation issues that affect us all.
