About Blue Rider Stables

Blue Rider Stables was founded in the spirit of the European Expressionistic art movement called Der Blaue Reiter. It was envisioned as a place where multiple ideas and influences could come together, forming a new, flexible way of thinking about horsemanship and healing.

Today, Blue Rider Stables carries forward that legacy through a mission grounded in connection, compassion, and mutual healing between humans and animals.

The programs welcome children and adults of all ages and abilities. Whether someone comes to ride, to heal, to learn, or simply to be near the animals, they encounter a mindful space where growth is nurtured and every individual—two-legged or four-legged—is treated with dignity and care. Riding is taught bareback, focusing on balance, trust, and a deeper understanding of the horse and oneself.

The past months brought enormous challenges. A long and difficult quarantine caused a profound loss of income, stretched resources to their limits, and tested the resilience of our staff, our animals, and our community. But the quarantine has now been lifted, and as we step forward, we do so with gratitude—for the horses who carried us through, for the community that stood beside us, and for every person who believes in the healing we make possible here.
