Early in my career, I led a team for the Muscular Dystrophy Association then later for many years was a Circle of Care contributor to the Aflac Children’s Cancer Center. Both organizations serve families facing heartbreaking circumstances that are unfathomable to most of us. Some of these families found bright moments of respite when their children were granted wishes from Make A Wish.

When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Most wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving.

Every day, 70+ children are diagnosed with a critical illness and count on donors like us to help make their wish come true.
