Our Story: Giving from the Sole

Giving from the Sole started as a simple idea: an elevated night out where fashion meets purpose. Over the past three years, that idea has grown into our signature annual fundraiser, drawing supporters from across the Triangle and helping us raise more than $50,000 for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation and local nonprofits that serve children and families in Wake County.

This year marks our fourth edition, and we wanted to do something that felt new while staying true to the spirit of the event. The masquerade theme came naturally. Our community has worked through challenging years where so much of life took place behind masks, yet the work continued. Families still needed support, teens still needed leadership opportunities, and local organizations still needed hands and funding to move the mission forward. The masquerade theme lets us celebrate that resilience, remove the metaphorical masks, and step into a night that blends mystery, elegance, and impact.

Sneakers stay at the heart of the experience. They symbolize movement, culture, and progress, reminding us that giving is not passive. It is action. It is stepping forward with intention. Pairing sneakers with black-tie attire and a masquerade twist creates a space where guests can show up authentically while still honoring tradition and style.

Giving from the Sole isn’t just a party. It is how we invest in the next generation of leaders, support Black families and underserved communities, and strengthen the community we call home. Every ticket, every sponsor, every donation fuels that purpose.
