PLEASE JOIN ME FOR CAmP II, CAP's ANNUAL BENEFIT! It is a super fun, casual event that raises money to bolster CAP's general operating budget which ensures that CAP staff have the tools and resources they need to prepare underserved students and their families for college access and success.
WHY I VOLUNTEER FOR CAP: Every fall for the past several years, my favorite afternoon of the week has been when I enter the CAP room at John Muir High School. I have been so impressed by the work CAP and us volunteers do to support students and families in their pursuit of a college education. I appreciate that CAP offers a variety of programs, including one-to-one support, financial aid advisement, and college exploration. These high school students are ready to go to college! My favorite part of the process…helping the students figure out what to write about in their essays, getting to know them through conversations and saying to them, “That’s it, that’s the story about you the admissions team needs to hear” Did you know that a band member practices more than any athlete on campus? Talk about time management! And we can’t forget, the acceptance letters! I can not begin to describe the joy when they get their acceptance letters. They are going to college! Whether it is down the street or across the country. College here they come!
I love being part of the CAP Pack and planning this event! We are celebrating our 5th year of the CAP Pack this fall and hope this event will be bigger and better than ever! Please join me and get your tickets or make a donation today. 💙
