Rooted in resilience, growing in strength— the Brave House is a nonprofit that is dedicated to empowering young immigrant women in NYC.

Just like a tree needs deep roots to thrive, we help our members establish strong foundations through community, support, and opportunity. From free legal aid, to leadership development, to community events, to holistic services, we provide the essential tools for growth. Together, we’re not just planting seeds for their future, but cultivating a thriving ecosystem of empowered immigrant and refugee women.

Our 350+ members collectively come from over 37 countries and span the 5 boroughs of NYC and Long Island. Many are fleeing gender-based violence and seeking protection in the United States. At our core, we provide advocacy to fight for the rights and happiness of each of our members. We tailor our services to our members’ needs, goals, and dreams, from setting up our members with mentors in the community, to assisting them with applying to college, to helping them secure health insurance and green cards, to creating events where they can make friends and be a kid.
