Shell Out for Hunger: A Tale of Clays and Compassion

The Oklahoma sun hung low, casting a golden glow over the sprawling fields of The Cedar Gate range. Dust stirred under the boots of volunteers as they set up targets, their laughter mingling with the clink of shotguns being prepped. It was the eve of the fourth annual Camino Charities Clay Shoot, and the air buzzed with anticipation. This year’s theme, Shell Out for Hunger, was a call to action, a promise to shatter clays and hunger alike. The event had grown into a beacon of hope, and the community was ready to rally.

Four years ago, Camino Charities fired its first shot. That inaugural event, a scrappy but spirited affair, raised $75,000 for Youth and Family Services, giving kids and families a lifeline. The second year, the stakes climbed higher—$125,000 poured into the Oklahoma Food Bank, providing One Million Meals to those hungry in Oklahoma. The following year, the third, was a triumph: $276,000 for ICAN, empowering communities with resources to rebuild and thrive. Last year we raised $204,000 for Sister BJ's Pantry and El Reno Blessings Baskets that paid for thousands of meals. Each year, the clay shoot grew, not just in funds but in heart, drawing sharpshooters, sponsors, and dreamers united for a cause. What will 2026 bring...

Bring your own gun or rentals will be available for $50.
