Casa Caché is an artist residency program located in Havana, Cuba. It was founded by Jorge Villarreal, a Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist, in collaboration with Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde, a Cuban artist, curator, and the current Director of the Wifredo Lam Center and the Havana Biennial.

The idea for Casa Caché emerged from Jorge Villarreal's personal experiences and artistic endeavors in Cuba. After his first trip to Cuba in 2009, Villarreal was inspired by the cultural richness and vibrant artistic community in Havana. In 2018, following his solo show at La Fototeca Nacional de Cuba, where he met Nelson Ramirez, the concept for Casa Caché started taking shape.

The residency aims to provide a transformative experience for visual artists, curators, writers, and researchers. Casa Caché is not only a workspace but also an opportunity for artists to immerse themselves in the authentic Cuban art scene, fostering both creative and professional growth. The program is situated in a historic 1892 colonial home in Vedado, one of Havana's elegant and historic neighborhoods.

Through collaborations with local artists, curators, and institutions, Casa Caché seeks to reinforce a tradition of cultural exchange and development spanning two centuries between Cuba, Mexico, and the broader artistic community of the Americas. The residency offers a supportive environment, including private accommodation, studio space, guided tours, communal dinners, and various other benefits to enhance the artists' experience during their one-month stay.
