Greetings friends, neighbors, and South Salish Sea dwellers!

The Deschutes Estuary Restoration Team (DERT) is excited to host our Annual Fundraiser and Auction in which all proceeds go directly towards supporting our mission:

To realize a fully restored Deschutes Estuary that reflects and respects the history and culture of the south Salish Sea, and advocate for a community managed Deschutes watershed that provides for all inhabitants for generations to come.

Join us on October 25th at Octapas for a night of celebration and camaraderie! The evening will include dinner, live music, and both silent and live auctions!

The Deschutes Estuary Restoration Team (DERT) serves as a center for creative, community-driven efforts to support the health and longevity of the Deschutes watershed for all inhabitants. DERT works directly with state agency leaders and legislators to advocate for the honest and complete accounting of the environmental impacts of an impounded and polluted Deschutes River Estuary (Capitol Lake). DERT also focuses on educating and engaging with our local communities in collaboration with partners such as the Squaxin Island Tribe, Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, and the Department of Ecology, & the Department of Enterprise Services. Through events like the CEDE Workshops, community science and forums, and environmental coalition-building such as the Deschutes Watershed Council, and Festival of the Steh-Chass. DERT has gained many advocates and partners in support of healing the estuary. We now look toward the health of the whole watershed as we continue to engage with our community to imagine and participate in the opportunities a restored estuary offers.
