I’m hitting the dance floor doing the Hustle for Dancing with the ARK Stars because I want every family in our community facing Alzheimer’s or dementia to know they’re not alone—and honestly, who doesn’t want an excuse to wear sparkles and dance like it’s 1977? Even though this disease hasn’t reached my family yet, I’ve learned how relentless it is for those living with it and the caregivers holding everything together. The ARK is the local lifeline that steps in with social respite, support groups, one-on-one consultations, and education so no one has to carry this burden in silence. By learning (and attempting to nail) the Hustle, I’m turning every side-step and grapevine into real help for our neighbors.
