Established in 1915 as the Eastside Jolly Boys in San Antonio, Texas, the Van Courtlandt Club became the Van Courtlandt Social Club in 1920. By the mid-1940s, it expanded its focus, presenting debutantes at the Van Courtlandt Annual Ball, with over 600 women participating in the past 70 years, pursuing diverse professions.

In 2014, the Van Courtlandt Foundation was created to support education through the Van Courtlandt Scholarship Fund, emphasizing assistance to students facing challenges. With core values of Faith, Family, and Service to the Community, the Foundation provides scholarships and mentoring for enhanced social skills and cultural awareness. Celebrating 108 years in 2023, the Club and Foundation maintain their legacy of service through annual scholarship luncheons since 2015.
