As the current cultural/political landscape shifts we venture into uncharted territory as a community driven non profit.

The Shiloh Community Association (SCA) represents Asheville's oldest historical African American Community in Asheville; home to 5,699 residents, 1,200 households and spanning over 240 acres. The SCA has benefited the community through partnerships with local non profits. We offer programming that includes health and wellness education, pop up food markets along with surveying the community for much needed home repair. The SCA has fought against commercial encroachment maintaining single family homes.

The SCA has expanded its footprint over 21 years through owning and managing the Shiloh Community Garden and Legacy Art Trail, the Booker Caribou Complex and most recently the purchase of the residential home 63 Jeffress which is adjacent to the garden.

We are community activists who value home ownership, historic preservation, self determination and wellness for all.

The Shiloh Community's roots reach back to pre Biltmore. George Vanderbilt paid to move the entire community, including the graveyard and church, to its current location. We are committed to preserving our heritage as we celebrate our 25th anniversary and uphold our motto: Building on the Legacy Embracing the Future.
