A Decade of Empowering Emerging Leaders & Strengthening Youth Programs

The event will feature a silent auction, where guests can bid on unique items and experiences to raise funds that allow us to continue empowering the next generation of changemakers and strengthening youth-focused nonprofits across the country.

Our Story

Since 2015, Future Leaders in Action (FLIA) has partnered with youth-serving organizations to place over 100 emerging leaders in three-month capacity-building projects, while earning a living wage. In doing so, we help close the post-college success gap and empower underrepresented young people to thrive in meaningful, impact-driven careers.

But the FLIA experience goes far beyond the project itself. Fellows also participate in professional and personal development workshops designed to deepen their understanding of social impact work and to shape them into empathetic, intentional leaders of tomorrow.

Our model empowers emerging leaders to grow as changemakers while helping nonprofits expand their reach, build capacity, and strengthen their impact.

This year, FLIA introduced a new grantmaking model providing our nonprofit partners with direct funding that covers the fellow’s stipend during their 3-month placement. This ensures that organizations have the resources they need to host fellows while continuing to focus on their mission-driven work.

While this new model launched in 2025, FLIA’s impact over the past decade speaks for itself:

42% of fellows from the 2023–2024 cohorts were hired by their partner organizations following their fellowship.
63% of fellows secured a job or internship within one month of completing the program.
Among 53 alumni across all cohorts, 73% reported that their fellowship experience influenced their career choice.
88% shared that their FLIA fellowship provided skills, experiences, and networks that positively impacted their career growth.

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re deepening our commitment to empowering emerging leaders, strengthening youth-serving nonprofits, and expanding our collective impact.

Every contribution, whether it’s $10 or $1,000, directly supports paid, full-time fellowships for recent graduates and provides essential grant funding for the organizations that host them.
