BRANDON RESIDENTIAL is a caring community promoting holistic wellbeing, where boys engage in activities designed to help them experience success in all areas of their lives.

Boys entering Brandon are resilient, talented, and intelligent, but typically experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, and anger, which may contribute to difficulties within homes, school, and the community. At Brandon, staff work closely with the boys to preserve, grow, and restore connections that empower youth to thrive.

Through our partnership with Brandon Residential, we enable youth who have experienced abuse and neglect to receive caring, trauma-focused treatment and wrap-around support services so they can successfully transition into adulthood within our communities.

JARRETT HARPER

Special Guest Speaker & Foster Care Reform Advocate Jarrett Harper is himself a survivor of the foster care system and endured 20 years of mass incarceration. After experiencing unimaginable trauma and abuse, at 16, Jarrett took the life of his abuser to protect himself and his younger brother. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Despite having no chance of release from prison, he found forgiveness and hope and transformed his own life by helping change the lives of other men in prisons who had the opportunity to get out. Jarrett volunteers with Child and Family Services where he mentors foster youth involved in the criminal legal system. He is also the founder of Better Days, a youth advocacy organization.

Jarrett shares his story in the hopes of developing better rehabilitation resources for youth in Foster Care, while supporting foster youth so they thrive as they transition into adulthood within our communities.
