In a world that feels increasingly busy, disconnected, and lonely, many people in Fargo-Moorhead are quietly struggling to find meaningful connection. In 2003, adults spent about 60 hours a month with friends. Today, it’s closer to 35. Somewhere in that missing time are the conversations, laughter, and shared moments that help us feel a part of our community.

Folkways exists to change that.

We create experiences where people don’t just attend — they belong. Through gatherings, shared moments, and intentional community-building, Folkways brings people together in ways that feel welcoming, playful, and deeply human. We believe connection is essential to wellbeing, and that everyone deserves a place where they feel heard, seen, and part of something bigger than themselves.
