In 2026, Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida (GRRMF) will proudly celebrate our 35th year of saving, protecting, and rehoming retrievers in need. Since our founding in 1991, GRRMF has been a lifeline for more than 4,400 dogs, each one finding hope, healing, and a forever family through the compassion of our volunteers and supporters.

Over the decades, GRRMF’s mission has grown beyond rescue and adoption to include community outreach and education. In 2019, we launched our Hearts of Gold therapy program, expanding our mission of love to touch even more lives. Today, GRRMF Hearts of Gold has grown to include over 160 therapy dog teams who have made more than 7,000 visits since the 2020 pandemic to hospitals, schools, libraries, assisted living and community centers and many more are planned for 2025 and beyond.

From rescued retrievers to comfort-giving therapy teams, every tail wag tells a story of compassion, connection, and commitment. As we celebrate our milestone year, we honor our dedicated volunteers, adopters, and supporters who make it all possible. Together, we look forward to continuing our mission for many more golden years to come.
