Health Betterment Initiative (HBI) was founded on the mission to improve access to screenings and vaccines after our founder Leslie Hsu Oh lost her mother and brother to Hepatitis B—a disease that disproportionately affects AANHPI communities. What began as her fight to prevent needless loss has grown into a movement to serve all marginalized communities facing barriers to care.

This luau & auction honors our roots by continuing that mission—ensuring that no one is left without the testing, education, and resources they need to stay healthy.

Your ticket and participation in the silent auction will directly fund free screenings, testing, and outreach efforts to provide lifesaving care for AANHPI and other underserved communities in the DMV. With your support, we can reach more people at risk for Hepatitis B, HIV, liver disease, and other infectious/chronic diseases, breaking down the barriers that keep them from receiving care.
