The Shoreline Theater Academy Kidz Konnection, a youth theater company started in 2006. We are dedicated to educating youth in the performing arts for the purpose of cultivating self-empowerment and leadership skills that will develop strong community-serving leaders of the future. Kidz Konnection is committed to meeting students where they are at and providing a nurturing, supportive environment in which they can learn and grow. We have an inclusive audition and registration policy and will never turn a student away. We believe that children will succeed and thrive when given the opportunity to shine.

Contributions will go toward supporting all programs run at the Shoreline Theater Academy Kidz Konnection including main stage performances, free summer theater, collaborative community performances, the scholarship fund so no child will ever be left behind and to offset the costs of providing a safe and welcoming space for emerging artists to develop their creative work.

In addition to all of this, funds raised will also help support a new playwriting program started in 2023 with a group of advanced level thespians with the purpose to engage teens in a collaborative experience of self-expression for the purpose of writing and producing an original work. Starting from nothing, participating teens develop an entirely original play/musical for performance on an issue affecting today’s modern communities and open meaningful dialogue between teens, their peers and the community at large to affect positive change.

The current play, written in conjunction with a New York based playwright, addresses the issues teens deal with in the era of social media and cell phones. The group was selected to perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh in 2025 and take their message to a global audience.

Ultimately, we hope this project will culminate in a curriculum disseminated across the globe to encourage a positive exchange of ideas and purposeful dialogue with the community, it's industry leaders, educators, government officials, parents and others serving the community around them both at home and abroad about the unique struggles they are facing in today's modern world.
