Over two decades ago, Honey Pot Performance (HPP) was founded as a Black feminist collective of movement artists and creative thinkers committed to exploring the complexities of living a contemporary global life. Over many years, HPP and their artistic collaborators have crafted an immense body of work that amplifies our joys, our strivings, and the beauty of belonging in the Black diaspora.

In 2025 alone, we’ve contracted/collaborated with 120 Chicagoland artists, creators, educators, caterers, volunteers, etc., uplifting their talents and skills through our roughly 20 community engagement programs. Our programming is also made possible through the tireless efforts of our 13 core HPP ensemble members and administrative staff, whom we are now able to pay on a monthly basis.

Through our long-standing mission and in alignment with our core values, we have been able to produce all of our programming at a free/sliding scale price point. In the spirit of our current care campaign, “We care for ourselves as we care for others” and in efforts to raise funds to continue this important work, we are launching a multi-platform fundraising campaign-- ‘Fill the Pot 2025-2026’-- which aims to highlight the voices of the HPP community and build financial support for the continued expansion of our organization rooted on the Westside.

Giving Back to Our Community

We’re excited to share that a portion of the funds raised from this campaign will be donated to The Firehouse Community Arts Center, located in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood. The Firehouse serves as a creative hub for Chicago’s youth, dedicated to preventing violence through the arts, community engagement, and a wide range of programming.

They have also been doing powerful work responding to food scarcity and resource cuts — hosting regular meal giveaways, organizing pop-up food-focused events, and partnering with local groceries and markets to provide fresh produce and goods to the community.

During a time when so many are facing challenges, we recognize how vital it is to support organizations that fill those gaps and uplift their communities. By contributing to this fundraiser, you’re also helping us provide mutual aid and celebrate the incredible work happening at The Firehouse.
