Founded in 2015 by the Israel Medical Fund, The Next Step is the sole organization in Israel dedicated to the support and rehabilitation of children and adults suffering from limb-loss.

Whether a survivor of a terrorist attack, a soldier with a combat injury, a child with a birth defect, or a patient recovering from terrible illness, we are here for these special people every step of the way, with cutting edge medical care, state-of-the-art prosthetics, and therapies that make all the difference.

The Next Step Empowerment Center (“Center”) is dedicated to inclusive care, welcoming a diverse patient population and extending our services beyond veterans and terror victims.

The center will serve both upper and lower-limb amputees and is strategically situated in central Israel, with convenient access via public transportation. Its primary objective is to enhance the functionality of amputees through specialized programs targeting fine and gross motor skills, balance, strength, and mobility.

Led by the foremost experts in rehabilitation, the Center goes beyond conventional services by integrating a compassionate approach, combining traditional methods with state-of-the-art technologies and offering the expertise of professional social workers to support amputees in coping with the mental health conditions that come as a consequence of limb loss.

Beyond physical recovery, the center offers specialized support to address amputees’ psychological and emotional needs, providing a safe space to address body image and other social concerns.

The Center relies entirely on ongoing private donations in order to become a reality. We are actively seeking $500,000 in funding to support the initial establishment and first-year operations. This allocation covers facility setup, advanced equipment procurement, personnel recruitment, and program implementation.
