During the event we will honor Victor Puertas with the Global Justice and Peace Award. Victor, is a member of the Yagua Nation, one of the Indigenous nations of the Amazon basin region in so-called Peru. Through our Award we are recognizing his dedicated support to indigenous communities within the U.S. colonial frontier. In particular, his commitment to the Anishinaabe people's struggle against Line 3, the fight to protect the Weelaunee Forest, and his support of the Black Mesa Indian Elders.

We will also honor Elliot Williams with the John Proctor Organizer Award, for a decade of service on our board of directors, and his work to advance immigrant and workers rights, clean energy, reproductive justice, fiscal policy and educational equity in the State of Colorado.

The program will include a social hour, potluck, opening remarks, musical performance by Adolfo Romero and Elena Klever, keynote by Victor Puertas. Stay tuned for more details of the program.

Durante el evento honraremos a Víctor Puertas con el Premio a la Justicia y la Paz Global Víctor es miembro de la Nación Yagua, una de las naciones indígenas de la región de la cuenca del Amazonas, en el llamado Perú. Con este premio reconocemos su apoyo a las comunidades indígenas de la frontera colonial de Estados Unidos. En particular, su compromiso con la lucha del pueblo Anishinaabe contra la Línea 3, la lucha para proteger el bosque Weelaunee y su apoyo a los ancianos indígenas de Black Mesa.

También estaremos reconociendo a Elliot Williams con el Premio John Proctor, por una década de servicio en nuestra junta directiva, y su trabajo para promover los derechos de los inmigrantes y los trabajadores, la energía limpia, la justicia reproductiva, la política fiscal y la equidad educativa en el Estado de Colorado.

El programa incluirá una fiesta de traje, un discurso de apertura, músical de Adolfo Romero, cantante y guitarrista originario de Chile, y el discurso de Victor Puertas.
