With support from local leaders like you, Kennett Community Grocer (KCG) is working to open a community-owned grocery store that supports our local farmers and producers by bringing fresh, local food to the Kennett Square area.

In fact, you may have seen our exciting recent announcement — KCG has signed a lease for the storefront with a target opening date of Spring 2026!

To help raise funds for the store’s opening, KCG is hosting a Chili Cook-off Event featuring local chef competitors. It promises to be a fun evening full of flavor, dancing, and hometown spirit — all in support of raising the $57,000 needed to cover the store’s first six months of operating costs. Therefore...

Your support fuels the co-op’s future while putting your name in front of hundreds of engaged community members! Your contribution will directly help bring this long-awaited food co-op to life — and in return, sponsors receive meaningful recognition before, during, and after the event.

Friends of Kennett Food Co-op, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 39-3397193). Your tax-deductible donation will be used solely to support the build out and operation of Kennett Community Grocer (KCG) — a member-owned cooperative that will sell locally produced foods to the Kennett Square–area community.
