We invite you to come join us for Unity in Community, LADN's 2nd annual fundraiser event on Sunday, April 21st, 12-3pm!

Our event will feature live music, a silent auction, a raffle, speeches from distinguished guests, kids' activities, and lunch available for purchase from the Pie 'n Burger food truck! Pie 'n Burger will be donating 100% of sales to LADN, so come hungry for delicious burgers! You'll have a chance to bid early on our auction items, as our silent auction will go live online on April 1st! Or come to the event for a chance to win a raffle drawing on a variety of exciting items! We'll also have some dysautonomia awareness activities, including an awareness wall and a dysautonomia quiz! Want to sport some LADN gear? We'll have merch for sale, too, including our fundraiser t-shirt!

The money raised from the fundraiser goes toward LADN's operating costs and the expenses associated with the many programs that LADN offers, inlcuding support groups, wellness workshops, educational events, and a grant program to help low-income patients with dysautonomia-related medical expenses. LADN has a goal this year of being able to increase the amount of funding for 2024's grant program and a future goal of hosting it's first dysautonomia patient conference. Los Angeles Dysautonomia Network (LADN) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by dysautonomia in California through community, education, and financial support. Dysautonomia refers to a group of disorders that cause dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system, which is the part of the nervous system that controls involuntary body functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, digestion, temperature regulation, etc. One of the most common forms of dysautonomia is called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which results in low cerebral blood flow upon standing or sitting upright. An estimated 79% of patients with Long COVID met the diagnostic criteria for POTS.

Event Accessibility:

While we provide a brief overview of our event accessibility below, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions! We are committed to making this event accessible and are happy to work with guests to make attendance a success.

Event Access: Entrance is through a large driveway with a nearly flat slope and no steps to the festivities. Attendees are welcome to explore the gardens, which are only accessible via one to three steps depending on the direction. Unfortunately wheelchair access to the restroom requires exiting to the street and entering via a separate driveway. We regret that it is not as close as we would wish; volunteers are happy to escort anyone who asks.

Parking: There will be free valet parking available at the entrance on Madre St.

Seating & Shade: There will be a large number of seats available in shade provided by a large tent.

Noise: Live music will be performed from approximately 12:20-1 and 2:10-2:50. We have chosen music with a softer sound with sensory issues in mind. It will not be amplified. Speeches will be reasonably amplified via microphone from about 1-1:40. We will be in a large outdoor space, so there should be quieter areas available as well.

Food: We are very pleased to have the Pie ‘N Burger food truck available! You can view their menu here. Their veggie patty is gluten-free and can be ordered with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. If you are unable to enjoy Pie ‘N Burger’s offerings due to dietary needs, you may bring your own lunch.

Immunity: We ask that anyone experiencing contagious symptoms please refrain from attending our event, especially given the health of our LADN community. Thank you.

Our History:

LADN's monthly support group has been meeting since February 2018 and has grown into a supportive community of people with dysautonomia across LA county and the greater California area. LADN registered as a nonprofit organization in February of 2023.

LADN is run by volunteer co-presidents Emily Suñez and Sally Krueger-Wyman, who live with dysautonomia. We know firsthand how challenging a dysautonomia diagnosis can be, as well as how helpful and validating it is to be part of a dysautonomia community.

LADN’s goal is to improve the lives of people with POTS and other forms of dysautonomia in California. We welcome those living with all forms of dysautonomia, as well as their care team, to join the Los Angeles Dysautonomia Network.

The founding board members of LADN are: Sally Krueger-Wyman; Emily Suñez; Barbie Faze; Nancee Jaffe, MS, RDN; Michael Osborn; Lindsey Wyman, JD, MPP; and Lori Wynstock, MD. Frank Suñez is secretary and treasurer.
