Our daughter Carmella Filomena Rossi loved the sunshine, loved being outside, and loved being with family. All of this influenced her love of playing golf. At just 2 weeks old, she was at the driving range with her dad. Whether it was outside swinging a club or putting inside the living room, Carmella was always happy. For those of you lucky enough to see her beautiful smile, you know how it instantly made your day better.

It was February 7, 2020, when our lives fell apart with three words: Carmella has cancer. Three more words were even more devastating: malignant rhabdoid tumor. For eight months Carmella cooked pancakes, went swimming, dressed as a unicorn, ate chocolate cake, and sank putts in her hospital room while simultaneously battling stage 4 kidney cancer. She spent her third birthday in the hospital but never once complained about the venue. Her advice for encountering the difficult things in life: “Be brave like me.” Carmella truly was the bravest of us all. Although she fought with everything she had, on October 29, 2020, cancer stole our brave little princess. She will be three years old forever.

No child should have to battle for their life and no family should have to fight this terrible disease by themselves. From financial assistance to emotional support and everything in between, P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative does everything possible to ensure that no one fights alone. We are proud to once again partner with P.U.N.T. to raise critical funds to help children facing pediatric cancer by holding a golf tournament in Carmella’s memory, The Carmella Classic!

This year’s Carmella Classic is our fourth annual. The Carmella Classic has now been going on for more years than Carmella was alive. That feels surreal and unbelievable. Carmella’s presence was so big and the joy she brought was so great, its hard to imagine a time she wasn’t here. Her spirit lives on in through this tournament, a testament to how well loved she still is and how much generosity her life has inspired. We are so proud and grateful that we get to be her parents.
