Help us celebrate Black Philanthropy Month and the work of the community this August 16th at Zócalo Food Park - 636 S 6th St, Milwaukee, WI 53204. We'll be dancing to live music and performances, eating good food, raising money, and showcasing the talent from across Milwaukee.

Our Mission

At Leaders Igniting Transformation, our mission is to build homegrown leadership, expand access and opportunity, and promote an equitable society by engaging and organizing the leadership of young people.

Our Impact

Since our founding in 2017, Leaders Igniting Transformation has worked to turn civic energy into real change across Milwaukee. In 2025 alone, our teams knocked over 60,000 doors, made more than 800,000 calls, and distributed over 160,000 voter education mailers, all concentrated in three aldermanic districts where Black and brown residents had seen voter participation fall below 40%. Working alongside partner organizations, those efforts helped drive an average 11.9% increase in participation across those districts.

In 2026, we deepened our commitment to Milwaukee youth beyond the ballot box. We launched the LIT Lounge, a youth-led third space in our Milwaukee office open twice a week after school. Young people come to access snacks, bus passes, unstructured downtime, and monthly wellness sessions led by community practitioners. It is a place where students can rest, heal, and sustain the leadership they are building with us.

Our work extends across the city through active partnerships with Milwaukee Public Schools and the Fire and Police Commission, advocating for safer school environments and more transparent public safety accountability for the communities we serve. Since 2017, we have grown from six Milwaukee Public Schools and three college campuses into a statewide organization developing the next generation of organizers, advocates, and civic leaders across Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin.
