Leadership Kaufman County is a 9 month program designed to train and encourage Kaufman County business people and residents to take an active role in determining the future of Kaufman County. The objective of the program is to develop a heightened sense of community awareness, involvement and leadership.

Each class selects a community service project and this year, the 2024-2025 class has committed to assisting Casey’s Place. Casey’s Place in Kaufman County is a non-profit and full working farm whose purpose, through various programs, camps, and afterschool activities, is to provide a restorative environment of learning. Through these programs, and with the help of many animals, children regain hope, develop confidence,
discover self-worth and emotional healing from a variety of abuse and poor family situations.

The goal is to fund new construction on a 12 x 26 structure (including teardown of existing) to provide a transformative space for healing. The current structure is 25 years old, sinking and takes in water. The class members are seeking donations in the form of cash contributions. The
scope of the project will depend largely on the donations that are given.

With your help, we can steer these deserving children onto a healing path that can lead to a more prosperous life.
