The Father Daughter Dance is our signature event for current and future friends of the Library, as well our beloved community held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. This special annual event takes place at Lexington High School. Fathers and daughters enjoy a night of dancing and photos, with light hors d'oeuvres. Each person will leave with a carnation.

While most of the daughter attendees are between 2 and 12, daughters of all ages are welcome. While many like to dress in their fanciest attire, there is no official dress code. Members receive early access to ticket sales (tickets sell out within 48 hours!).

Tickets are open to the general public and available for purchase for $60/per father and daughter couple and $25/per additional daughter.

About Friends of the Lexington Main Library:

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to support the main branch of the Lexington Library system and the Lexington community. We are powered by amazing volunteers who want to help Lexington County step into the future while maintaining the small-town feel we all love.

The Friends of the Lexington Main Library, or FLML as we like to call ourselves, work closely with the library and provide them with funding to add extra programs. We are extremely proud of the things we are already doing, but we want to grow bigger and tackle more. We know the citizens of Lexington County want even more creative outlets, places to discover new hobbies, family-friendly events that are cost-efficient, and so much more.
