Serving Adults Since 1968

Since 1968, Literacy Chicago has addressed the literacy and language needs of adults in Chicago. Thousands of adults have participated in the broad range of free educational programs throughout the city. Literacy Chicago has developed Basic Literacy, GED preparation, English as a Second Language, Workforce Development, Citizenship classes, Digital Literacy and numerous bridge programs. More than 150 dedicated tutor volunteers contribute significantly to the success of Literacy Chicago and make a big difference in their students' lives.
