Fundraiser receives matching grant challenge by Woodard Family Foundation

On April 26th Twinberry Commons organized a Spring Fun Festival & Fundraiser Dinner. The two events gathered hundreds of visitors, raised $11,000 and received word that the Woodard Family Foundation awarded the 501c3 a $30,000 Matching Grant - requirement is to raise $30K in matching donations by the end of June. Local media, including Kezi 9, covered the event extensively and its success was thanks to extended community support and volunteers. Around 400 people attended the Festival throughout the day, enjoying food, beverages, baked goods, music, artisan vendors and local organisations and businesses. The Fundraiser Dinner seats sold out and guests enjoyed a bountiful dinner by Branch Road Farm, beverages from Saginaw Vineyard and High Street Tonics (Eugene based). Inspirational guest speakers such as Charlie Tilt of Hummingbird Wholesales and local entrepreneurs shared their stories and encouraged the audience to support local farmers, producers & artisans, to nurture kindness and love, and to be part of supporting the development of the Cottage Grove Community Space and Public Market and to fulfill its mission “To cultivate a welcoming and vibrant Space supporting sustainable local producers and artisans.”

The Fundraiser was able to raise $11,000, thanks to a multitude of contributions from many individuals, organizations, businesses, the City of Cottage Grove and amazing volunteers who helped make the day a great success. After event expenses were paid, funds remaining are around $9,000. These funds will go towards funding the organizations costs related to its work to support the below four programs;

Developing a Community Space that meets the needs of the local community for information about access to healthy, fresh, sustainably grown and produced foods; learning new skills and gaining knowledge through community based educational gatherings, events, and workshops - including special focus on children & youth;
Assisting the transition of Cottage Grove’s local Coast Fork Farm Stand into a Food co-op to ensure its long term survival;
Creating the foundation for our Commons - a Public Market where locals and visitors can gather, share knowledge and develop common ground.
Supporting local entrepreneurs by creating space for a small business Incubator.

Twinberry Commons wants to thank EVERYONE who selflessly helped us make these two events possible! So many grover’s and others donated time, effort and resources and made the Festival and Dinner so nice for everyone who attended. Twinberry Commons is organizing a fundraiser to support the development of a Community Space, a Public Market, a Food Co-op and an Incubator Space in Cottage Grove, Oregon. We have some amazing guests speakers, storytellers and musicians and we look forward to hosting a great evening.

Dinner will be catered by Branch Road Farm, Saginaw Vineyard will have a wine bar and High Street Tonics will have a dry bar for purchase of beverages.
