Moving Veterans Forward was started in 2011.

Founder was Ron Hernandez, a 100% disabled Veteran. The organization was formed with the assistance of John Emswiler, also a disabled Veteran.

Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa has had a local individual come forward and make a pledge. This individual stated that he would donate property to Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa with the understanding that Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa would do fundraising and collect adequate funding to build a new warehouse on the site on the edge of Algona.

We are seeking funds to help with the costs of building a new warehouse.

Moving Veterans Forward and Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa have furnished 1,992 apartments and houses at no cost to the veterans as of the end of 2022.

Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa is a designated funds of the Papillion Community Foundation (PCF). PCF is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) and is a public charity. FEIN: 47-0805574.

Moving Veterans Forward is the 2019 Sarpy County Chamber, Non-profit & Business Leader of the year for 2019.

Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards of Excellence Non-Profit of the year.

John and Jessica Emswiler had the privilege of personally addressing Governor Reynolds and Assistant Governor Gregg about the operations of Moving Veterans Forward of North Central Iowa.

John and Ron have addressed the Iowa Veterans Affair Committee at the state capitol about veteran issues.

Works with the Kossuth County CARE team to ensure that needs of local individuals in need are met.
