Welcome to the Northeast Indiana Water Trails' Paddling Forward virtual auction!

The Northeast Indiana Water Trails (NEIWT) is a regional partnership dedicated to enhancing water quality across 566 miles of flowing waterways in northeast Indiana. Our mission is to expand recreational opportunities by improving boat access, encouraging water safety and stewardship, and developing a network of regional water trails. These efforts aim to connect communities and inspire greater involvement with our shared water resources.

Since its founding in 2015, NEIWT has successfully brought residents closer to our rivers in NE Indiana. We've developed a waterproof water trail map, installed new public river access sites, and engaged the community through events like Pedal, Paddle, Play and free monthly paddle socials. Other initiatives include wayfinding and interpretive signage, dam warning signs at low head dams, a comprehensive paddling website, podcasts, bi-monthly newsletters, and more—helping more people explore and appreciate our rivers than ever before!

Paddling Forward to 2026, NEIWT is introducing new programs designed to connect local youth with our waterways. We’ll be launching free Learn to Paddle classes for children and families, taught by certified instructors. These classes will go beyond paddling basics and water safety, offering hands-on education in river ecology, wildlife, hydrology, and conservation careers. With a goal to engage 200 participants, we’re seeking your support! Proceeds from this funding campaign will fund youth programming in the coming years. As the holiday season nears, this is a great chance to find gifts for loved ones—or yourself—while helping us “paddle forward” into a year filled with new opportunities on our rivers!
