Globally, the International Labour Organization estimates 4.8 million humans were trafficked in 2017 with 1 million being children, and that within the last 5 years, the number of victims has increased by nearly 10 million.

The Dept of State reports that Honduras is principally a source and transit country for men, women, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor; to a much lesser extent, Honduras is a destination for women and girls from neighboring countries subjected to sex trafficking. Honduran women and children are exploited in sex trafficking within the country and in other countries in the region, particularly Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and the United States. NGOs report that gangs and criminal organizations exploit girls in sex trafficking.

In India, the National Human Rights Commission says approximately 40,000 children are abducted each year. NGOs estimate that between 12,000 and 50,000 women and children are trafficked into India from neighboring nations as part of a thriving sex trade.

In Texas, The Polaris Project reports that Houston is the worst city in the country with the highest number of reported child sex trafficking cases. As a state, Texas has the 2nd most reports of sex trafficking cases in the country.

The heart of Radiate Coalition is for the sexually broken child who's life has been ripped apart by the darkness of this world. We believe true healing can only occur in the name and power of Jesus Christ and the ministry currently provides whole person care on the other side of sexual trauma in Honduras for young girls. The current cost in Honduras is $15,000 per year per child. That pays for the psycologist and social worker on staff as well as physician and dental visits, individual and group trauma therapy, private schooling, other staff, meals, housing, utilities, security, and various other necessities. We just returned from India exploring potential ministry expasnsion there and we have an active comittee investigating the creation of a Texas facility as well.

Nikki and I have never imagined that we would be celebrating our birthdays by raising funds for anyone, but if I'm honest - after meeting these girls and learning their stories - they have impacted our lives in a very permanent way. I was led to this ministry last year and officially started working for Radiate Coalition in November of last year.
