Our Story: Penn Acres Swim Club & The Purpose of Our Silent Auction

Penn Acres Swim Club has been a cornerstone of the New Castle community since the 1960s. Originally opened for the Penn Acres neighborhood, our pool has grown over the decades into a welcoming public membership pool for families throughout the area.

As time has passed, many community pools around us have closed their doors—one by one, the places where families once gathered, children learned to swim, and neighbors connected have disappeared. But here at Penn Acres Swim Club, our mission has remained the same: to continue being a safe, vibrant, and joyful space for our community.

We are proud to be the home of the Penn Acres Dolphins, our summer competitive swim team where local children learn to swim, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. Beyond swimming, our pool brings families together through monthly kids’ nights, family nights, and community events that celebrate the simple joys of summer.

As a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer board, we rely on the generosity and involvement of our members and neighbors to keep our doors open and our programs thriving. Every donation, every membership, and every act of support helps us maintain a safe, well-loved environment for local families to enjoy year after year.
