What is PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue?

PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Angleton, TX, proudly serving the greater Houston area. We are a dedicated guinea pig rescue that focuses exclusively on the care, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abandoned and stray guinea pigs or guinea pigs that local shelters are unable to support.

Now in our second year of operation as a 501(c)(3), our rescue fills a critical gap in the community. Most traditional animal shelters aren't equipped to handle the unique needs of guinea pigs. That’s why having a dedicated rescue like ours is so important. By supporting PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue, you’re not only helping us but also helping to relieve the burden on local shelters—allowing them to focus their resources on cats and dogs.

As the only guinea pig-specific rescue in the Houston area, we’re passionate about educating the public on the joy of guinea pigs & finding loving homes for every piggy who comes through our doors. With your support, we can continue to grow and make a difference in the lives of even more piggies.

Why are we hosting an auction?

Our rescue is currently experiencing an unprecedented wave of intakes, and we need your help more than ever. Recently, we took in our largest group to date—13 guinea pigs in total, including 7 females and 6 males. We believe there is a possibility the females are pregnant, which means we’re preparing for an even larger population in the coming months.

Shortly after this major intake, we were contacted about an emergency situation where three male guinea pigs were illegally dumped outside a Tractor Supply store. We’re now facing the busiest and most financially demanding period we've had since our rescue began.

In addition to the new arrivals, we’ve had a few of our Rescues & long-term residents need some wellness exams.

One of our sanctuary pigs, Boris, is visibly in need of a dental trim.
Dave the magical cheese wizard (Rescue pig) is grinding up his pellets and we'd like to do a wellness check to ensure there is not a dental issues with his back molars.
Our newest intakes from tractor supply need their dose of puppy revolution for a mite/lice preventative as they had been outside prior to coming to our rescue and we have observed some itching.

Due to the growing number of pigs in our care and the rising costs of food, bedding, and veterinary care, we’ve decided to host a Spring Silent Auction fundraiser to help raise the funds we need.

Your support through this auction will help cover vet bills, daily care supplies, and provide relief for our already tight budget. Every bid, donation, and share truly makes a difference in the lives of these little ones. We are endlessly grateful for our community and for everyone who stands with us in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome guinea pigs in need.

Where will any extra funds raised go?

In the event that we exceed our fundraising goal, any additional funds will be thoughtfully allocated toward other essential needs within our rescue. This includes providing annual wellness exams for piggies due for their checkups, purchasing everyday supplies like gloves and cleaning products, and replacing worn-out items such as coroplast bases that are on their last leg.

Any remaining contributions will go directly toward the ongoing care of our guinea pigs or be saved for a future dream of ours—moving into a larger, dedicated facility that can better accommodate the growing number of lives we’re working to save.
