Music education at the high school level costs around $3,500 per student annually, much of which is not covered by the school district. For many families, this is out of reach. PCHS Wildcat Band families do not let this stop them, rolling up their sleeves and volunteering thousands of hours to fundraise as they believe every student deserves the gift of music.

For decades, the Plainfield Central High School Band Boosters have worked tirelessly to keep our program strong, providing instruments, instruction, and equipment. In fact, it was not until 2023 that we finally retired the last instruments that survived the 1990 Plainfield F-5 Tornado! We are continuing our goal of levelling up our marching band and we need the public's help to push us there! $40,000 can provide the necessary funds for us to take our entire marching band to a national competition this fall so they can experience the next level of creativity and push them to an entirely new level of musicianship. We are also looking to purchase new speakers, drum major podiums, uniform bags, and uniform tops.

Founded in 1951, the Plainfield Central High School Band Boosters is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting music education. Plainfield Central is the oldest high school in Illinois’ third-largest district, serving a diverse student body just outside historic downtown Plainfield. Nearly 38% of our students are considered low-income, and our band program reflects this diversity, welcoming students of all academic, social, and athletic backgrounds. Help us give these talented students the experience they deserve!
