THIS FUNDRAISER AND AUCTION ARE IN SUPPORT OF THE FEATURE ANIMATED DOCUMENTARY :

Pour the Water as I Leave is a 90 minute animated, narrative/documentary hybrid feature film. It tells a story about what happened to Bosnians 25 years ago and how it relates to 84 million refugees all over the world today. Structured as a hybrid of narrative and documentary, the story bridges past and present of seven Bosnians currently living in the USA. Daniela Repas, film director, threads her Bosnian heritage, experience of war and refugee life throughout this Balkan saga, inviting the audiences to dance amongst the rubble and rise into the new.

The film is first recorded as live action and then drawn into animated sequences. With all the live scenes already filmed, we are entering the most exciting yet most difficult stage of the production: ANIMATION! This campaign is aimed at funding the next stage of our production. We are inviting you to be our partners, sponsors and backers of this timely and impactful film. Please see below how you can participate in person or virtually.

At the CLOSING NIGHT FUNDRAISER guests will experience a Balkan style celebration including food and drinks, art exhibition, live Balkan music and dancing, a First-Look at an excerpt from the film, a Feed the Need fundraiser, and meet the filmmakers and interviewees!

Pour the Water as I Leave : Installation Vol I : Film in Progress

Portland is home to a strong Bosnian community and many are former refugees who made home here after the Balkan War in 1990’s. In the animated documentary film Pour the Water as I Leave, which is currently in production in Portland, they tell their story, some for the first time. Experience the filmmaking process in the first installation of a series which invites viewers to walk inside this film-in-progress. The exhibition features behind the scenes photography by Simone Fischer, hand drawn animation cels and animated excerpts from the film by Daniela Repas, the Bosnian born and Portland based director, animator and creator of Pour the Water as I Leave. Produced by Shrine13 and Six Billion Suns Productions, and hosted by Sator Projects. The exhibition is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council. To find out more, please click HERE.
