What is My Life In a Bag?

My Life In A Bag Foundation provides youth who reside in residential facilities and foster care homes the opportunity to own their luggage.

Why?

The harsh reality is that many of these youth enter and leave the care facilities with their belongings stuffed in black trash bags. This degrading act leaves a lasting mark of worthlessness, as there are countless times youth’s belongings are mistaken as trash and thrown away. This also leaves them feeling as if they too are something to be collected and disposed of.

My Life In A Bag Foundation provides essential needs, such as luggage, overnight bags, storage bins, hygiene essentials, undergarments, socks, and special case shoes, to youth residing in group homes, foster care, and special homeless situations. We support the well-being of these youth by pooling resources to create a sustainable and enriching environment for growth and living.

My Life In A Bag Foundation's mission enhances their well-being and create social, educational, and environmental conditions by pooling resources for a sustainable and enriching way of growth and living.

Vision

My Life In A Bag Foundation envisions a future where all youth have the support they need to reach their full potential. Through mentorship, leadership, and confidence-building, we will help youth develop into mature young adults who are prepared to contribute to their families, communities, and the world.

The My Life in a Bag Foundation understands the enormous task that we face, but we are ready, willing, and able to take it on. We are facilitated by those who cherish the responsibility of helping others, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the world.
