We are launching Phase II of our Building Capital Campaign to lay the foundation—both literally and figuratively—for a space that will serve as a pillar of strength and cultural preservation for the Tigrayan community. This phase focuses on raising $1,000,000 to construct the foundation of the building.

The Center will include:

Why This Matters

The Tigrayan presence in Colorado traces back to the 1970s and 1980s when thousands fled genocide, manmade famine, and extreme violence in Ethiopia. Many of these refugees resettled in Colorado, which is now home to one of the largest Tigrayan communities in the U.S., estimated at 25,000 people.

Established in 1993, the Tigrai Community of Colorado has been a vital resource for Tigrayans navigating life in a new country. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to provide social, educational, and economic support, particularly for Tigrayan youth and families who face systemic barriers.
